the region, hundreds of thousands without power, nearly two weeks after superstorm sandy hit. we reported thisngoing dis'ser is man made, and i want to tell you about that tonight. keeping them honest. we begin with breaking news. a story that has slind sided the american intelligence community and still developing at this hour. general david petraeus resigned as director of the cia after admitting he an extramarital affair. they confirm to cnn that the investigators have been exploring tips on an affair with paula broadwell, his biographer. they tried to see if there was a potential security risk, in other words to see if petraeus could possibly be black mailed. petraeus is a highly respected, retired four-star general who commanded forces in both iraq and afghanistan. he was sworn in to run the cia a little over a year ago with vice president biden with his wife holly at his side. that was the swearing in. they've been married 35 years, have two grown kids. so how will this revelation exact the u.s. intelligence community? joining me now is fran townsend and bob baer and suzanne kelly.

's time we get a break. first you had superstorm sandy, then the nor'easter and seriously cold temps. gary mcgrady is with us. so, gary are let's hope some warm weather is sticking around.a while. >> will, today we were up to 58 degrees. we're into the 60s for the weekend and at least on monday. it will get cooler after monday. right now, though, we look at satellite picture. it's all fair out there. there are some showers coming into northwestern ohio right now, all indications are that's going to weaken and dissipate. we may see a few high and midlevel clouds early tomorrow morning. the plan for the weekend is this ridge of high pressure really will kind of pump up through the area and keep us protected. that will keep most of the cloud cover going north of us. any chance of rain going to the north of us and maybe more importantly, it will bring in these southerly winds. it will help get temperatures back up to the mild category. i think we're probably going to be up into the middle 60s tomorrow and as we start getting into sunday, we're talking the upper 60s. it would not surprise me on

and responsibly .. >>neil: first hurricane sandy and then a nor'easter and now how are residents coping, rick? rick: they are calling this town disgusting because until today trash was not picked up since october 27, two two days before the storm. you can seed of that, piles of trash, large construction dumpster in the drive of this home. the issue was, water was several feet high, several feet deep and you can see another example of this with the debris piled up in the first yard and you come around this way, people are now going into their homes, with dumpsters lining the drives as people try to rip out drywall, their possessions, anything that was wet has to be thrown out, mildew in the homes they want to prevent. trucks have cleared debris here for the first time since before the storm and this followed a very, very noisy meeting in town where people were yelling at county officials about the lack of power and the lack of response and the lack of trash clean up and after that meeting the heavy trucks came to this neighborhood for the first time. we spoke with a resident who is more upset

, joe. 11 days since sandy struck, and now new york city and surrounding areas are now having gas rations. every other day you can get gas depending on the last digit of your license plate. this is because of supply and distribution issues. the power is going back on in a lot of those gas stations, but these lines continue. just to give you an example in brooklyn where i live, at 2:00 a.m. when i come to work, it was still a two-hour-long line. people sitting there with gas cans waiting to get it. it's incredible that it continues now almost two weeks since sandy struck. gas rationing because of shortages in new york city. this morning temperatures continue to be very cold on the heels of that nor'easter. the snow is still on the ground. bundle up. windchills in the 20s in new england. even down to the 30s all the way down to washington, d.c. so this is it, though. we're going to start to warm it up in this region of the country. we desperately need it. it's been rough out there. it's going to be in the 50s today instead of the 40s. we should melt a lot of that snow. as we go thro
